More about AB 2360

AB 2360 requires insurers to offer a telehealth consultation program that provides obstetricians, pediatricians, and family practice providers who treat children or pregnant and postpartum persons with access to a mental health triage support phone/video consult line including a psychiatrist, if needed. The concept is modeled after the evidence-based Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Program (MCPAP) and MCPAP for Moms Program.

The goal is to more quickly diagnose and treat children and pregnant and postpartum persons suffering from mental illness.

This bill is authored by Assemblymember and Maternal Mental Health Champion Brian Mainschein who also authored the screening mandate AB 2193 which passed in 2018.
